Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was a child prodigy. For a young Irish girl who was surrounded by gifted parents and a loving loved ones, this was a characteristic that was innate to her. Maureen made her entrance into the sanctity of family on the 17th of August, 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion of "The Shamrock Rovers" an eminent Irish soccer team. Maureen was the second child of six FitzSimons children - Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was young and became very good at it. In addition to this she was gifted to act. In the end, she won the majority of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances in her home country. When she was 14 years old, she joined the Abbey Theater to follow her ambitions in classical theater and operatic vocals.
